Our Frequently Asked Questions may help you out!
WHAT HAPPENS AS THE LASER HITS THE FAT CELL?
Laser permeates the external membrane of the fat so, inducing lipolysis.
WHERE DOES THE GLYCEROL GO?
The glycerol diffuses throughout the body in the bloodstream and is passed in the urine. Additionally glycerol is converted by the liver as energy which is burned off during the whole body vibration plate session.
WHERE DO THE FREE FATTY ACIDS GO?
Once the free fatty acids are released into the interstitial space, it is been processed by the lymphatic system which gets forced to the kidneys and liver to be processed.
WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS TO THE FAT?
The fat cells are undamaged, but due to the reaction of the laser light on the cell it will empty the contents. The contents consist of water, glycerol and free fatty acids. Following a treatment the Glycerol or sugar is rapidly absorbed by the body. The water carries the free fatty acids through the lymphatic system, through the kidneys and are then passed out of the body in your urine.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
We recommend two treatments per week for four weeks per area.
CAN I HAVE MORE THAN ONE TREATED AT ONE TIME?
Yes, if you are prepared to do more cardio vascular exercise or use the vibe plate. One treatment area is considered one session.
DOES THE TREATMENT HURT?
No. There is no pain at all.
HOW MUCH INCH LOSS WILL I ACHIEVE FROM THIS TREATMENT?
A typical client will lose between 1-2 inches during a single session around the stomach; this is also heavily dependent on the depth of the fat layer. Results in other target areas will be more varied. Commitment to the treatment and a decent eating plan will ensure maximum results. The exercise program after each treatment is important to allow the fat released during the treatment, to be used up as energy. A typical client can expect to reduce an area by 1-2 dress sizes during a course of treatments.
WILL I LOSE WEIGHT?
Body Sculpting by Donna is not for weight loss, but for body contouring and inch loss. It is not a weight treatment.
WILL THE INCHES STAY OFF AFTER A TREATMENT?
If you maintain a healthy diet and exercise routine then yes.
HOW LONG WILL THE RESULTS LAST?
As long as you maintain your weight, diet and exercise, the inch loss will be long-lasting. If exercise is not undertaken soon after the Lipo Laser treatment, the results will be temporary. Booster sessions following a course of treatments are highly recommended to keep your body in its ideal shape.
WHAT AREAS OF THE BODY CAN BE TREATED?
The Lipo treatment can be performed on the following areas: Stomach, Face, Hips, Thighs, Calves, Back Fat, Baby Bulge, Male Breasts, Chin, and fat around the face – using specially designed facial pads.
ARE THE LASER TREATMENTS SAFE?
Not only is the procedure safe but quick, pain-free and healthy. There is no recovery time needed, and you can return to normal activities directly after the treatment.
ARE THERE ANY HARMFUL SIDE EFFECTS OR CONTRAINDICATIONS?
There are no ill side effects. This procedure has been done on multiple organ transplant recipients- it's that safe. In fact in one clinical trial a kidney transplant recipient bloodwork revealed a 30% increase in her transplanted kidney function as well as improved creatinine and triglyceride levels. This procedure should not be performed on any patient who is pregnant or lactating, epilepsy, active cancer cells, or severe cases of thyroid issues.Answer to question 13
WHAT EXERCISE SHOULD THEY DO FOLLOWING AN INCH-LOSS TREATMENT?
Any cardio-vascular exercise adjusted for each client’s fitness level, such as; running machine, swimming, power walking, etc. It is important to check the client’s age and fitness level before suggesting any exercise. Whichever exercise is chosen must get the heart rate up to the point of perspiring.

Understanding fat
Adipose or fatty tissue is the body's means of storing metabolic energy over extended periods of time. Depending on current physiological condition, adipocytes either store fat derived from diet and liver metabolism or degrade stored fat to supply fatty acids and glycerol to the circulation.
These metabolic activities are regulated by sever hormones (i.e. insulin, glucagon, and epinephrine). The location of the adipose tissue determines its metabolic profile: Visceral Fat is located within the abdominal wall (beneath the wall of abdominal muscle) whereas Subcutaneous Fat includes fat that is located in the abdominal area beneath the skin but above the muscle wall.

Why Do we store fat?
Fat is produced when an excess of calories is consumed in the form of either food or drink. When the diet provides the body with more calories than it requires for general maintenance and its current level of physical activity, this excess energy is stored in the form of body fat. Our Body tends to store fat according to our individual genetic code. In other words, hereditary characters may dictate the areas in your body that accumulate fat.
Where do we store fat?
Female: if you are a typical female you will accumulate fat predominantly below the waist in the gluteofemoral region (lower abdomen, buttocks, hips, and thighs) creating a "pear shape".
Male: They typical male tendency is to accumulate fat predominantly above the waist around the midriff creating the "apple shape". Interestingly, fat cells usually do not generate after puberty. Therefore, in adults, even as the body stores more fat, the number of fat cells remains the same.

Adipose Cell
The removal of excess fat takes place by the reversal of the bodily processes that stores energy. If you increase your physical activity and do not increase your intake of food, you will draw the extra energy needed from your stored fat. Your weight is determined by the rate at which you store energy from the food that you eat, and the rate at which you use that energy. As your body breaks down fat, each fat cells get smaller, but the number of fat cells remains the same.
How Lipo Laser Works
Laser energy safely penetrates the patient's skin at a specific wavelength (650 nm) targeted for adipose (fat) cellos. Adipose cells are permeated, releasing free fatty acids (FFA's), water, and glycerol. Together these compounds are known as triglycerides. Triglycerides are normally released from fat cells when the body needs energy. Once released, the glycerol and free fatty acids are used by the body as an energy source. Adipose cells "shrink" significantly, resulting in inch loss for patients. Exercise and 10 minute whole body vibration sessions are recommended immediately post-treatment to burn FFA's within the body lymphatic system.
